Thanksgiving meal a ‘historic’ belly-buster!

Nov 21, 2021

The Clay County PALS enjoyed a complimentary Thanksgiving Meal with all the trappings of the first authentic event — pilgrim included. The event was held Sunday, November 21, 2021 in the BenTina Room at Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer, Iowa.

Cheryl Stanley, a retired Texas history teacher from Everly, presented the fun, historic recounting of the first Thanksgiving meal with the Pilgrims at Plymouth Rock. Stanley was dressed in period clothing and kept the young PALS’ attention fixed before they dove in for a belly-busting dinner with their mentors. Clay County PALS Vice President Kay Clancy and the PALS Board Members made and served the meal.
